Skin Benefits And Uses Of Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol)

Combat free radicals

Vitamin E (alpha tocopherol)

– the great protector of your skin

The benefits of vitamin E for the health of the skin are well proven. Because of its antioxidant activity, vitamin E helps combat the damaging effects on your skin of free radicals, which come from various sources including pollution, UV radiation, poor nutrition, and as a result of aging.

Anti-aging benefits of vitamin E

Vitamin E has been shown in many scientific studies to play a vital role in reversing the effects of aging on the skin. It reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and also helps prevent the appearance of age spots.

Vitamin E has also been shown to significantly reduce the appearance of stretch marks on the skin and it can even help scars to gradually fade away.

Furthermore, scientific studies have shown vitamin E can help decrease the effects of more serious skin conditions such as psoriasis and erythema, and may help in reducing the risk of skin cancer.

The importance of NATURAL Vitamin E

Many forms of vitamin E are synthetic. We don’t believe these synthetic versions are nearly as effective for improving the health and appearance of your skin, as the natural forms of vitamin E. That’s why we choose only natural vitamin E and only from the best possible sources, made by a Germany company called Cognis.

Our vitamin E is a natural, pure form of alpha-tocopherol*

Most other skincare products (even expensive brands) use a synthetic form of alpha-tocopherol acetate. This has much lower antioxidant benefits compared with natural alpha-tocopherol , and is not so effective. Even those skincare products that do use natural vitamin E, usually include it in very small amounts, mainly for marketing purposes.

In contrast, all our skincare products contain a high level (between 0.5% and 1%) of natural vitamin E. Most competing products contain only about one-fifth of that amount (0.1% to 0.2%).

An extra benefit

As an added bonus, because of its antioxidant properties, Vitamin E also acts as a natural preservative to extend the life of our products, preventing them from oxidizing and going rancid.

*Vitamin E consists of several natural compounds, including alpha, beta, delta, and gamma tocopherol. The most important of these (and the most effective for the skin) is alpha-tocopherol.
